What would you do with a million dollars, part 26

While driving my daughter to seminary, we're reminiscing about the house close to where we're driving, the one we lost the bid on.  The kitchen was small, but it did have a gas stove, which is a particular hang up of mine.

Daughter: Mom, oh my gosh! We could have a stove where all four burners work!  That would be epic.

And I wonder why I'm having adjustment issues.

I am laughing.... I too share your experience. We went from living in a single wide trailor to living in a neighborhood filled with doctors, lawyers and such and experienced a loss of friends, friends in the church, family? We are still the same people. We haven't changed. But apparently the money status changed their opinion of us. We've made new friends but we just don't fit into their lifestyles. I'm in here! It's still me! I want to scream - I haven't gone anywhere!
I will probably stalk you because your sense of humor is so soothing.

ONLY 3 OF OUR BURNERS WORK RIGHT NOW.. AND WE CAN'T GET THE 4TH ONE FIXED BECAUSE THE COMPANY DON'T MAKE THAT PART NO MO!

WEEEEZ PO.... BUT HAPPY.... FOR THE MOST PART ♥

Congratulations on your new found money! But you do understand that a million dollars isn't much. Infact it's quite more common than you think. The area of town that I live in would not lend you to believe that I or several of my neighbors are millionaires. But we are. I hate to have to say it, but I think that you are way more common than you think. I mean good luck with spending your money, hopefully you do some good with it, but even if you don't....a million just isn't that much.

Me again. I guess that this blog could be a joke, in which case sorry about dropping the million isn't a lot bomb. Because truth be told, it just isn't. ....hopefully this is a joke, while not funny to all, maybe entertaining to some. Honestly I can't wrap my head around someone who really sees life this way, and feels such feelingless things. Okay I am just going to tell myself it's a joke, you must be kidding. One nobody would get this geeked over a million dollars and two, well I can't imagine somebody really thinks like this....except for humor's sake.

yeah, I know. that's what's so funny when I hear my friends playing "what would you do with a million dollars?" Maybe you could get $40,000 in interest off it a year. That's not enough to quit your jobs, or buy an island, or half the other things people say they'll do.

Still, it's nice to have. Personally, I love the medical insurance. I'm going to get my first mammogram.

I get the burner thing. We're living without A/C or heat or warm water or a master bath shower. Our flooring is horrid and is ascerbating my son's allergies. Our counters are peeling and our roof is leaky. Oh, and our house is only 12 years old which means that we still have a lot of mortgage to pay and nothing left over to fix all the crap.

After awhile you just learn to live with the things you can't afford to fix and you start to HATE the women at Church who think their life is so hard because their lunch date at Panera Bread got cancelled.

If I were rich, I would try to help people get out of debt.

Sometimes people get in debt for stupid things. Other times its for medical and life emrgencies. It matters not to the company wanting to strangulate you and keep you in credit card debt forever though.

I'd make low interest loans to reputable people to pay off their own debts and repay me at a rate of 8% interest or so. That way you're doing good things but also making more money than having your moolah earning savings interest from a bank which I think is about 3% right now.
